Mint Water

Beat the heat with homemade Mint Water! To make fresh mint water you will need a large pitcher of water, several large springs of fresh mint and lemon slices (optional). To get the maximum amount of flavor from the mint you will want to bruise (crush) the mint. If you do not have a pestle you can use the back of a wooden spoon. Place the sprigs in a ceramic bowl or on a cutting board and press down / crush on the mint continuously until the mint turns a darker color. This will release the flavor from the mint and will really infuse the water! Mix water, bruised mint and sliced lemons in a larger pitcher and chill. Mint water is best enjoyed a day or two after it is made. ENJOY and stay hydrated!
