STOP! Don't Get Stuck In Your Exercise Rut!
If you are anything like me your fitness routine can drift onto "autopilot" real quick if you are not careful. Deep down, you know you are not getting the most "bang for your buck", you start to plateau and get bored with your workout. STOP! This is your wake up call... This is a dangerous place to be!! It is one step away from starting to create reasons to skip your workouts OR even worse - straight up not enjoying workout! That would be a DANG SHAME!!! For so many of us our "workout time" = "me time". It is the hour (or longer if you are lucky) when you time to focus and invest in yourself and your wellbeing. For those of you who struggle with this concept or feel selfish taking time to work out... it is time to change the way you think. You are able to love and take care of those you love when you are at your best. To combat my exercise rut I decided to focus on something that I know I neglect... my flexibility. Once upon a time I used to enjoy stretching and yoga and as life got busy I have gotten away that and today I decided that I would make a change. After moving all the furniture in our living room, washing off old mats and trying several different videos I settled on a YouTube 30 Day Yoga Challenge. It felt GREAT! Now, I was a little taken aback about how inflexible I have become but I won't let that slow me down! I can't wait to see where I am at in 30 days! So break your fitness rut and fall in love with exercise all over again... or maybe for the first time EVER!! Either way you won't know what is possible if you don't try!
