The Power of GRAPEFRUIT!


As many of you know I have recommended Grapefruit for years. For those of you who are old enough, you may even remember "the grapefruit diet" years ago. As ridiculous and unhealthy as it was, they had ONE thing right; grapefruits ARE indeed very healthy. Let's look at WHY instead of just because "JT said eat one". Aside form the obvious benefits of vitamin c and Fiber, Grapefruits have been linked to a reduced risk of stroke, an increase in fat loss (albeit small), and they have even been shown to inhibited growth of cancerous tumors! Grapefruits have also been shown to prevent asthma flare-ups, help you stay regular, and promote healthier skin. They contain potassium, lycopene and choline which help lower blood pressure AND triglyceride levels as well. Grapefruits are composed of about 90% water and contain a ton of electrolytes that help you maintain proper hydration throughout the day when you have them in the morning (as long as you drink your proper fill of water). Lastly, a study conducted at the University of agriculture showed the their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are highest when they are harvested in December, so ENJOY! HINT: There are TONS of people in the area with trees that cant possibly eat all the fruit. Try offering to come get them off the ground for them so they don't rot and draw bugs... it's a win win!
