Thrive!!

Starting early October, everything begins to take a shift…the weather is getting cooler, Thanksgiving & Christmas plans are being made and the long sleeve, long pant, “hide myself” clothing comes out. Each of us, for our own individual reasons, have a much harder time staying on point the last 3 months of the year and some even give themselves a “pass”; doing stuff they wouldn’t DARE do any other time of year.

Have you stopped to consider the real reason why? We all know that good cooking, travel, traditions, remembering loved ones lost, even current relationships that aren't where they should be ALL contribute to weight gain, depression and ultimately feeling less love for yourself than you could or should, but the "why" is deeper. In the end, reflections of a year that might not have gone the way you had hoped is now not only about to end, it’s about to start again and for some, nothing has changed. That’s hard. We all have legitimate reasons to feel bad and things that get us down through the holidays, but the reality is they’re there all year. We also love to eat through the holidays, but some give yourselves a “pass” and you shouldn’t (as I type this, I know more than a dozen who are doing it).

The truth is, it doesn’t have to be and shouldn’t be all or nothing, guys; you don’t have to avoid the things you love, the good (bad) food, the family get-togethers, the eggnog, pecan pie or the seconds (in my case the thirds), but you don’t have to throw away everything that you’ve worked so hard for during the year either! Doing that for next three months means you'll be spending the first 2-3 months of 2018 getting it back. Not only is that painful, that effectively wastes 5-6 months of the year, giving you 6-7 months instead of 12.

What I’m saying is you don’t wait! Don't settle, don't put off feeling good and just wait for a new years resolution. You can have both and it’s easier than you think! Stop treating yourself like you’re only worth it 75% of the time and tell yourself that anyone who contributes to making you feel that way shouldn’t be in your life or at the very least, shouldn’t be given the power [by YOU] to make you feel that way. Let’s not just survive the holidays let’s THRIVE. Eat the things you want, lose weight, feel incredible, and stand tall! Be proud of what you've accomplished in 2017. Make your new-year's resolution one of continuing what you’ve already started! If you’re someone who is waiting to start DON’T. If you’re someone who has hit the pause button and given yourself a pass DON’T. Let me show you how you can have both. You can be the healthy, happy, motivated, fit person you want to be and you don’t need anyone’s permission but your own to do so. I’m a call/e-mail/message/tweet away. - JT
