Special Thanks To John Fuller for Sharing his Amazing Story!
"Up and down. Up, and down. People would be amazed at the changes in the guy that crawled out from underneath the hundred extra pounds. The first time I lost weight I lost fifty-seven pounds, the next time almost seventy. But the siren call of Mcdonald’s, Pizza, and Chinese Buffets would always lure me back.
I loved to eat! I always had a little belly, even in grade school. Middle school was the same, and I would get picked on some, but I still had friends and it wasn’t too bad then. In high school I had a gut, but my senior year I worked as a waiter and slimmed down to a trim 180 which wasn’t bad for a six foot guy.
I managed to hold my own my first year of college, then a series of health and romantic setbacks led me to run off to college as I tried to escape my problems. It was a small denominational college, and there was lots of down-home country cooking in the cafeteria. My weight jumped up about twenty or thirty pounds-and boy, did I hear about it when I went home to visit.
My world really fell apart the next year with family illness and the subsequent loss. I stayed home and went to work at a series of high-stress, low-paying service jobs. Food was my comfort, and my old fast-food friends were always there for me.
I quickly packed on over a hundred pounds, and looked and felt miserable. I finally pulled myself up by my bootstraps, and lost the weight taking a fat blocker and by exercising, but then slipped back when I had another setback.
A few years later, facing my twentieth high school reunion, I lost again, slimming down sixty pounds. Then, when the reunion was over, I gradually slipped back into old habits and got fat again. A few years later after a bad health scare I was able to lose again, but gradually slipped back. I tried a weight loss center, but they just couldn’t meet my needs.
I finally joined a gym, but didn’t know what I was doing. I really was just blundering around and didn’t have much hope by then after battling my weight-and mostly losing the battle for over fifteen years. To be completely clear, I’d tried many things by then. I tracked every calorie I ate for years, on and off, and got so tired of it I finally gave up. I was jaded with all the new diets that seemed to come out every week.
I was at the gym one day and heard about JT and thought at first his program was too good to be true. I went to see him, and it’s been amazing! I started off strong and lost a few pounds, then slipped back into old habits. The first time I gained, he sat me down and we had a long talk. He told me I had to make up mind. Either deal with being obese and the problems that came with it or do what it took to get it off-and keep it off. I was tired of being morbidly obese and tired of being on high blood pressure medicine and insulin. My self esteem was in tatters and I’d resigned myself to a lifetime of being fat and dying young. So I told him I’d give it my best shot for a year.
That was six weeks ago. The results have been amazing! I lost fifteen pounds-in one month! The workout is rigorous, and I’ve had to change my way of eating completely, but whenever I feel like it’s too much I always ask myself two or three questions.
If the workout seems like too long or too much, I ask myself, what else would I be doing? I would be sitting in front of the computer, on the internet, usually after stuffing myself at a Chinese Buffet, getting fatter, looking at a bunch of stuff I’ve already seen and doesn’t matter.
If I feel like I don’t want to do the routine or do food prep, I ask myself, how many days do I have to do it? The answer is none, if I don’t want to. I do this because I want to, no one is making me do it. And how many days do I have to do it? Just one. Today.
I want to add one more thing. JT doesn’t give you a cookie-cutter diet and exercise regimen like everybody else out there-he has you get blood testing and then puts together a diet tailored specifically to YOU. That was one of the obstacles I faced….there are a million different diets on the internet and they all say they are the right ones.
With his regimen, I know what to eat, when to eat, how to cook it, and how much. NO GRAY areas-which was always my problem. I think anyone that really wants to lose weight and keep it off should give it a try-just be aware it IS a lifestyle change but it is SO worth it!" - John Fuller
