Don't Focus On The Goal, Focus On Today.

September 13, 2018

"This is not the most flattering “then/now” picture. I tried to pull tight the same shirt to show the amount of change. The result was not quite what I was going for. However, it’s to make a point. This is two years in. Yes, it’s been that long. I didn’t realize until I looked at the date the picture on the left was taken. I’m 70lbs down. And I’m not at my goal yet. I have struggled. Gone up and down at times. Still may. And that’s the point. This is not an overnight deal. This is not a “fit in to something” thing. This is a life focus thing. If you want to do this, you CAN! But not overnight. I started off walking a treadmill. Barely. I did that for six months before attempting running. Then that barely qualified as running. About six months later I actually started running. Struggling to complete two miles. Now, in a little over a month, I’ll be running a marathon. It takes time to get here. Don’t focus on the goal. Focus on today. Focus on making the right choices today. Take a picture today. Because before you know it, a year or two later you’ll look back at that picture you took today and not realize that that much time has past. The question is, do you look the same or drastically different? Well, that depends on the choice you make today. If you need help, you can reach out to me, or see a professional. I know a good coach. JT Thompson. I want to point out one last thing. Notice I said “then/now” not “before/after”. That’s because there is no after. There is only Now. You can look back at then. But you can only control Now. And Now never becomes after. Peace!"
